PRECIOUS METALS IRA

A Precious Metals IRA is a Self-Directed IRA that allows you to invest retirement savings in physical precious metals, much like you invest in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds with a regular IRA.

QUICK START GUIDE

MetalQuity makes it easy for you to invest in a Precious Metals IRA in three simple steps and works with New Direction IRA, Inc. to make it even easier.

step 1

OPEN A SELF-DIRECTED IRA ACCOUNT

Open a Self-Directed IRA account with New Direction IRA, Inc. or the custodian of your choosing and elect

  • MetalQuity Capital Group, Inc. as your bullion dealer and
  • a COMEX/CME-approved depository.
step 2

FUND YOUR SELF-DIRECTED IRA ACCOUNT

Fund your Self-Directed IRA account with the custodian by

  • transferring an existing IRA,
  • rolling over an existing IRA, and/or
  • depositing new IRA contributions.

Authorize the custodian to allocate sufficient funds to MetalQuity to pay for your purchase.

step 3

PURCHASE IRA-APPROVED PRECIOUS METALS

Call MetalQuity toll-free at 844-698-9074 and have an Account Manager lock-in the price of and place your order for IRA-approved precious metals. The custodian will remit payment from your Self-Directed IRA account to MetalQuity. MetalQuity will ship the precious metals to the depository.

CUSTODIAN

A custodian is an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulated entity that manages Self-Directed IRAs with a fiduciary duty on behalf of client directives. It holds custody of IRA assets, processes transactions, and performs administrative duties including maintaining records, filing reports, and issuing statements. MetalQuity works with other custodians but recommends New Direction IRA, Inc. for many reasons including its

  • online client portal—myDirection.com®—to easily manage accounts, the
  • Precious Metal Asset Team (PMAT) of Precious Metals IRA specialists, and its
  • transparent and competitive fee structure.

Only precious metals that are IRA-approved by the IRS are eligible for inclusion in Self-Directed IRAs. The Internal Revenue Code requires that IRA-approved precious metals be issued by COMEX/CME-approved refiners and meet a standard level of fineness:

  • Gold bullion, coins*, and bars — .999 fine
  • Silver bullion, coins, rounds, and bars — .999 fine
  • Platinum bullion, coins, and bars — .9995 fine
  • Palladium bullion, coins, and bars — .9995 fine

* The .9167 fine American Gold Eagle is the exception and is IRA-approved.
